The simple, frame-less design on the Gazco Studio Slimline Edge balanced flue gas fire allows to create a minimalist feature by plastering up to the fireplace enclosure. This version is also popular with home owners who are looking to make a feature of the wall such as tiling etc.
The minimal frameless look of the Studio Edge draws the eye inwards to further emphasise the beautiful flames and glowing ember effects. It offers all the distinctive hallmarks that are synonymous with the Gazco Studio range, with the added benefit of a slimmer firebox designed specifically for simple cavity wall installation.
Studio Edge & Cool Wall Kits
Edge Kit
This kit is screw-mounted to the front flange of the outer firebox. The L-shaped attachments can either provide a 20mm return against which high temperature plasterboard/screed can be butted up for the ‘clean edge’ look or, if the firebox flange is on the outside of a brick or studwork wall, allow ceramic or stone tiles to be fixed with a similar look. The Edge Kit is finished in black to complement the Studio.
Cool Wall Kit
Again, screw-mounted to the front flange of the outer firebox, the 60mm deep U-shaped attachments of the Cool Wall kit are designed primarily for studwork false chimney breasts. The additional depth allows some of the heat to be vented up into the void above the firebox and then re-enter the room at a higher level. The effect is to produce a cooler wall immediately above the appliance than would otherwise be the case. The Cool Wall Kit is left unfinished so that it can be painted to match the front face of your fireplace.
Please note: Due to the heat produced around the fire when fitted with one of the Edge kits, plastered walls may suffer hairline cracking around the fire. Tiling the wall around the fire will prevent this but if you don't plan to tile the wall, we would recommend opting for the Studio Slimline with a 'ZC' Zero Clearance frame (listed separately).
The shallow firebox depth of the Studio Slimline Edge allow it to be inset into a standard, flat external cavity wall with extensive building work required such as building out a stud wall which would normally be required with most 'hole-in-the-wall' balanced flue gas fireplaces. The fire is supplied with a rear exit balanced flue pipe and terminal which attaches to the back of the fire and vents the fumes horizontally through the wall.
Despite its shallow depth, the glass-fronted, Gazco Studio Slimline Edge produces an impressive heat output of up to 3.80kW with the larger Studio 2 sized version boasting a powerful 4.50kW maximum output making it well suited to all room sizes. It also boasts lower running costs thanks to high efficiency of 82%.
With a choice of ultra-modern white stones or classic, hand-painted logs, you can tailor the fire to meet both traditional or contemporary interior design schemes. For further enhancement of this sensational gas fire, you can select from black reeded, vermiculite, brick-effect interior or reflective black glass linings.
The glass-fronted Gazco Studio Slimline fires have been specifically developed to allow the highly desirable aesthetics of the landscape Studio fires to be achieved in a wider variety of homes by simply recessing into the internal leaf of a cavity wall. Available in two sizes, both come complete with a dedicated rear exit balanced flue termination kit for easy installation.
The Gazco Studio Slimline is now supplied with the enhanced Black Glass interior linings as standard. The Studio 1 size is offered with a Log fuel effect only. The Studio 2 size is available with a choice of Logs or White Stones fuel effects.
With each combination offering a significantly different appearance to the fire, you can be sure to select the perfect combination of fuel effect, lining and frame style to suit your interior decor. Although compact in design, these highly efficient fires have a generous heat output which is easily controlled with the Programmable Thermostatic remote control.
Optional Remote System Mains Adaptor is available which allows connection to main electric so that batteries are not required to power the remote control operation.
