Go Scandi! Create the latest Scandinavian fireplace style in your home

A trend for minimalistic Scandi interiors is becoming ever more popular. The defining features of Scandi design are simplistic with emphasis on light, Scandinavian countries can spend as much as 6 months of the year with very limited daylight so light colours are prominent, white walls or very pale greys are commonplace and there is a great emphasis on nature with light wood, wool and leather a major part of Scandi homes and design.

Traditionally Scandinavian homes were small and therefore everything within needed to be functional as well as aesthetic. it’s most definitely clean lines and simplicity that predominates a Scandi look that gives the feeling of space and light. Every feature serves a purpose.

Wood burning stoves have long been used in Scandinavia and these along with British designs have evolved with clever ideas for using corners with the likes of the Dik Geurts Olaf wood burning stove that features a log store below and tapered sides to allow installation into a corner and the optional heat shield to protect walls from damage, fitting perfectly into Scandi design ethos of providing functional storage with a large portrait window enabling eye level views of beautiful flickering flames and creating a wonderful cosy atmosphere in your home, providing an impressive heat output of up to 10kW.

Similarly the Dik Guerts Odin has a number of options to suit practically every installation requirement. From the Odin fixed, suspended from the ceiling, to the to the Dik Geurts Odin fixed tunnel which provides a 360 degree view of the flames from either side to the Odin Plateau with the functional convenient area to store logs and a beautiful curved section with which to seat the stove itself, this can be viewed in our newly extended Manchester fireplace showroom, there is also the option of the Odin Plateau tunnel again allowing flickering flames to be viewed and enjoyed from both sides.

British designs from ACR include the hugely popular ACR Neo which is available with the incredibly practical and space saving Log store in the form of the ACR Neo 3C wood burning and Multi-fuel stove or Scandi style Neo 3P with pedestal fitting perfectly into modern or Scandi designed homes combining the beautiful with practicality.

For those who want the look of a wood burning stove but the convenience of electric in homes where high output is not the aim, the ACR Neo 3C electrc stove, incorporating log store therefore giving height to the stove and the storing of logs to add to the realistic look , and the Neo 3F have proved to be very much in demand since being launched at the industry Hearth and Home Exhibition in 2018, coincidentally the Neo 3F was named “ Electric Appliance of the year” award at the exhibition. Unsurprising given the realistic ceramic logs with crystal embers and for a further realistic feel there is the option to add a dummy flue pipe and glass hearth for both the Neo 3C and 3F. Both models come as standard with the convenience of thermostatic programmable remote enabling you to set a 7 day programme and fully controlling the flame and heat function.
