Gallery Palmerston Cast Iron Fireplace (Sovereign)

Nothing creates a dramatic style statement like a cast iron fireplace. Robust construction with beautiful curves along the mantel chest and legs, the Palmerston cast iron fireplace is at home in living rooms, dining rooms, studies etc and is sure to make an imposing centrepiece in any home.

Supplied in a matt black finish as standard with the option to also select the mantel fully polished in a striking satin silver, it is an ideal fire surround for many standard sized interiors including the optional Sovereign tiled insert offered here as a costs option. With a mantel width of 1372mm (54"), the Palmerston is the largest cast iron surround in the Gallery range and has been designed to easily fit on to all standard sized chimney breasts.

If opting for the optional Sovereign cast insert within this package deal, you can select from a range of fire options to suit your needs. There is also a range of hearths available in polished granite, slate and specially adapted 'slabbed' hearths that have been adapted for when you plan to use this fireplace for burning coal or wood.

The Sovereign insert is suitable for use with an existing, standard sized clay fire back or fibre 'hotbox' if combining with a gas fire. Alternatively, there is a dedicated cast back that can be supplied.

The gas fire option is a superb alternative to a real open fire. Authentic coal fuel effect and flickering flames which can easily be adjusted using the manual controls located behind the bottom cast drawer. Additional ventilation (air vent) is not normally required and these type of gas fires are designed more for decoration rather than their heating capabilities.

A solid fuel kit option gives you the ability to burn coal or wood. If this is your preferred option, we would always recommend the black version cast insert as tarnishing can occur on polished surfaces due to the increased heat.
