Burley Carlby 9307-C Catalytic Converter Wood Burning Stove

The aim of a catalytic converter in a wood burning stove is to convert as much as possible of the pollutants into either carbon dioxide or water. The catalytic converter also releases heat energy as it oxidises the smoke, so it improves efficiency and reduces pollution at the same time!

This state-of-the-art wood burning stove is ideal for larger rooms or open-plan living areas as it boasts an nominal heat output rating of 7kW and capable of generating up to 8.2kW when run on maximum. The catalytic converter technology help the Burley Carlby 9307-C achieve a superb efficiency rating of up to 84.7%.

The Carlby 9307-C is from Burley's 'Firecube' range of features an advanced heat exchanger. This heat exchanger scrubs the energy from the hot gasses before they go up the chimney and puts more warmth into your home.

The combination of efficient burning and heat recovery means that Burley are the ONLY company who guarantee that their wood burners will deliver more warmth and use less fuel than any comparable stove you may currently have. Burley stoves are the cleanest least polluting stoves in the world. This is achieved through a three step combustion process. Firstly, the intensity of Burley's Fireball combustion chamber ensures the majority of particulates are burnt before leaving the combustion chamber. After this an remaining particulates have to pass through Burley's unique soot trap.

This is a red hot stainless steel mesh on which particulates spontaneously combust on contact releasing more energy in the process. Finally, particulates that survive the previous steps still have to make it through the catalytic converter where they are burnt through oxidation. The combination of these three measures results in particulate emissions as low as 0.1 grams per hour. For comparison burning one single open fire produces more particulate emissions than 300 Burley stoves!

Simple and modern in design, the Carlby 9307-C is constructed from steel. The plate steel sections are 5mm and 8mm thick and are welded by robots with the welds applied in exactly the right place and in exactly the right thickness resulting in the steel sections being melted and fused together to make a virtually indestructible construction. Weighing in at a mighty 105kg, you can be assured that this cutting-edge stove is built to last giving years of dependable service.

Not only is the Burley Carlby 9307-C a DEFRA exempt stove and approved for burning wood in smokeless areas, it has passed the tests for the upcoming EcoDesign directive. Ecodesign Compliant stoves have been third party independently verified as meeting the maximum emission limits for particulate matter (PM), organic gaseous compounds (OGC), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), as well as the minimum limits for seasonal efficiency.

Finished in classic matt black high temperature paint with attractive wood door handle, the dedicated wood burning Burley Carlby 9307-C and is available with an extended base plinth. This is the perfect accompaniment for stand alone installations where height needs to be emphasised. This item is a separate component and fits to the standard height stove.

An optional Outside Air Kit can also be purchased as a Standard Room Seal Kit or Angled Room Seal Kit. The Standard Kit connects directly from the rear of the fire to the back wall. The Angled Kit exits at 900 from the rear of the fire. This can then be connected to standard ducts (available from builders’ merchants), to create a path to an outside wall. A maximum of five 900 angles may be used.

Included free with the Carlby 9307-C is Burley's 'Thank You' pack which typically contains:

• Spanner to attach and adjust the tension of the air control lever
• Coaster to protect the top of your stove
• Moisture Meter to ensure your wood is dry

• Stove Paint in case you prefer black handles or ever need to touch up any paint work
